ChromEx is not recommened for use with a single exam over an extended time-period. ChromEx is an app specially designed for timed exams during a single day and not a text storage tool. There is a function in ChromEx that allows students to resume their test but this feature is only suppose to be used if a student fails to finish his exam by turning the computer off or if the student misunderstands the submission process.
Exams written in ChromEx is only saved locally on student's individual Chromebooks. This means that students must sit on exactly the same Chromebook during each lesson to resume their tests. This poses a risk since students easily forget which Chromebook they used if they did not use personal Chromebooks. In addition, if the G Suite domain enabled the following policy "Delete all user data settings and status after each login", the students texts will disappear if they restart their Chromebooks. If you want to save texts and samples over a longer period and resume them, we recommend that you use an app created for saving texts such as Google Docs.
